About 1

I understand how important training is for physical and mental wellbeing, as well as the importance of adapting it to fit around your lifestyle.

I was lucky enough to be encouraged to play and enjoy sports by my parents, but a total lack of talent told me something was missing from my approach to training. I spent the next decade trying to work out what I should be doing while trying to find a balance between studying History, working as a teacher, training and playing sports.

Working as a history teacher taught me the importance of making the complex easier to understand – this is why education is the foundation of my business. It also taught me a harsh lesson – the way a lot of training is taught doesn’t actually fit or work in the real world when you aren’t a full-time Olympic athlete. Choosing to work with a coach a few years ago was the best decision I could have made. In that time, I made more progress than I ever did on my own, have had fewer injuries and learned more about training than I did through my own research.

You cannot work long hours under pressure and train heavy 4+ days a week – something has to give. However, you can make huge amounts of progress while under pressure and deadlines if your training is sensible, thought-out and adaptable. I want to take the guesswork out of your training and understanding.

the garage facilities

There is everything you need to get strong, stay robust or prepare for your sport without wasting your time or wasting the gym’s space.

The facility is fully kitted out with over 220kg of iron Olympic plates, a power rack with pullup attachment, a dip attachment, a Texas Power Bar, a trap/hex bar, an adjustable bench, two adjustable dumbbell handles, kettlebells up to 32kg, a suspension trainer, adjustable gymnastic rings, squat stands, squat ramp, plyo box, squat box, neck harness, dipping belt and a range of bands. Everything in here has been purchased with my clients in mind.

There is everything you need to get strong, stay robust or prepare for your sport without wasting your time or wasting the gym’s space. As a result, exercises can be done in the power rack or on the open gym floor, which is rubberised to help with grip and provide some cushioning for jumping or plyometrics. We also have a space heater and a fan to help take the edge off the Sheffield weather.
